We are still a miniature horse ranch where unwanted miniature horses and miniature donkeys are given a home and a purpose as book ambassadors/literacy advocates. Their purpose is to encourage children and young adults to READ and LEARN of the people, places, and events that have shaped the history of the Old and New American West and also Biblical history. Each horse has a book or set of books on a certain person, place, or event that they represent. They are active in a READ TO A HORSE program and various other reading rewards programs including one being offered online. We are also hoping to soon become an approved foster home for CMHR (Chances Miniature Horse Rescue), and will update here when/if approved.
We enjoy going into schools, churches, libraries, senior centers, museums, etc....anywhere where the love for reading can be fostered. We are active as volunteers with the Black Stallion Literacy Foundation, using our little horses as visual aids with The Little Black A Pony books.
Through the selling of books (used and new), donations, grants, and a sponsor an equine storyteller program through E.L.LA., Blessing Way's little equines are being blessed and being little blessings to others.
