JHK Miniatures
is located in the Red River Valley in Southwest Oklahoma on
a 160 acre farm which was homesteaded in 1901 by my
grandfather, Cecil A. Herring. We live in the original house
that was built by my grandfather and his wife Wilda B.
Faubion Herring. The soil structure of the land is sandy
loam soil with red clay subsoil, it has the name of Tillman
County Loam which is known worldwide as the most productive
soil in the world. We evolved from the pioneer spirit with a
proud and rich heritage.
So has the base for
JHK Miniature Horses been built on the rich heritage and
superior genetics of horses which have had a long standing
reputation for passing their highly desirable traits onto
their offspring. JHK has used the highly sought after
genetics of Gold Melody Boy and Rowdy infused with enough
genes of other superior lines to create what we call JHK "Designer
Genes". Examine the pedigrees of our
studs
and the line breeding to the genetics that has made the
Miniature Horse what it is today. We are striving for
improvement of the breed, excellence in genetic pedigree,
and to create JHK Designer
Genes that will excel in the show ring as well as
in the breeding pastures.
